i'll just sit here and file my nails, thank you
you have to do two things - 1) file with the city and (if applicable) landmarks, and 2) file with the board for the building you are working in.
if you file with what is called the Department of Buildings (DOB), it's actually filing with the city even though the name refers to buildings.
if you file with The Building, it's with a private corporation with a board of chairpeople.
so when people saying "building filing," which do you think it's referring to? yeah i don't know either. is there any differentiation for the other kind of filing? NOT REALLY!
