yep tired yep
to add to my complaints about my commute yesterday - i fell asleep on the train. too much champagne and staying up late and waiting fuck all forever for a train makes for a bad combo. even worse when they are running the 6 train on the express track, so when you DO fall asleep you don't end up in brooklyn but instead when you regain consciousness you find that the fucking thing has looped around and you are right back where you started, except it's an hour later than when the train picked you up and now you have to use the bathroom!
AND
when i decide the next day to say fuck it and ride my bike 10 miles instead of waiting for public transit and dealing with the sardine effect, i learn that the east side has fuck all for bike lanes. the east side bike path is a fucking joke as it's more like an offroad adventure that hasn't been repaved since the 70s with all the potholes and mudpiles, and this map which supposedly shows a bike lane running on 1st ave from 73rd on uptown? IT DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST. as well as the supposed "bike routes" which are just a joke as is thinking that riding your bike in manhattan is going to get you anywhere faster than a car. why aren't there any north/south bike lanes on the east side above 21st street? whyyyyy? goddamn. after dealing with that bullshit and getting detoured through times square (our own special little piece of hell) i finally made it across town to the west side bike path which i took down to my work before i had a minor meltdown. good fucking lord. fuck that experience, it made me beyond irritated. i'm glad i live in brooklyn and that i can ride my bike all over there because there are lanes and space aplenty.
anyway. first world problems, i know.
i think i'm ranting because i'm tired, disappointed in a lot of things, and just continuing to do my own shit as usual. i have two story ideas that i want to start scratching out... it's just a matter of how it will manifest and when.
